NGK named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) for the Eighth Consecutive Year

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (hereinafter "NGK") based in Nagoya, Japan, announced that it has been selected for the eighth consecutive year as a constituent company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (“DJSI Asia Pacific”), which is one of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (“DJSI”), a globally iconic environmental, social, governance (ESG) investment index.

The DJSI is a leading ESG investment index that has been offered since 1999 by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC of the U.S. It analyzes companies on governance and economic, environmental, and social factors. Companies that possess excellent sustainability are then selected as constituent companies for the index. Inclusion in DJSI has become one of the most important investment criteria for investors around the world who place importance on ESG.

The constituent companies of the DJSI index are reviewed annually. This year, fiscal 2023, NGK has been selected by DJSI Asia Pacific to be included in the index. The top ranking 156 companies (of which 75 were Japanese companies) were selected from among some 600 leading companies in the Asia- Pacific Ocean region.
