Promoting innovation through co-creating with our partners
The NGK Group is working with partners to promote innovation toward achieving New Value 1000, which symbolizes the Group’s goal of over 100 billion yen in sales of newly introduced products by the year 2030.
At our Open Innovation facilities, together with various partners, including academic and research institutions and startups, we pursue the creation of new ideas and new businesses and seek to promote technological exchange and other joint activities that will generate opportunities for new and lasting partnerships. Through such co-creation efforts, we aim to create new and innovative products and to expedite their commercial introduction.

ID-Room NAGOYA Headquarters
Here at the Headquarters we have a technology and product display area to experience the diverse technologies of the NGK Group, as well as an Ideation Area to deepen discussions, broaden ideas, and optimize conditions for vibrant co-creation.
Product Display Area
This area introduces various NGK Group products that support industry and daily life as well as help address social challenges, which rely on our proprietary ceramic technologies.
Ideation Area
This area is for hosting discussions between the NGK Group and its customers, aimed at deepening our understanding of the technologies and initiatives on both sides.
ID-Room TOKYO Satellite
This display space allows visitors to experience the latest in NGK Group technologies in the greater Tokyo metropolitan area, home to many current and prospective client companies and research institutions. A meeting system, including a large monitor, lets visitors hear technological explanations by engineers and other staff at our NAGOYA Headquarters as well as take part in discussions, with the physical products close at hand.

This immersive meeting system projects NAGOYA Headquarters staff and individuals participating remotely on a large monitor at life size.

NGK Group Co-Creation Facilities slated for completion in early summer 2025
NGK constructs new Co-Creation Facilities as a site for promoting open innovation and adding new value to society with its unique ceramic technologies, as set forth in NGK’s corporate philosophy. The building will be designed with spaces that foster collaboration, such as an area that introduces NGK’s products and core technologies that help to solve social issues, an area where ideas can be developed with partners from outside the Company, and an area that creates opportunities for new meetings and networking among people from within and outside the Company. NGK will push ahead with co-creation by integrating various technologies, knowledge and expertise from within and outside the Company, with the aim of creating new products and businesses rapidly and efficiently.
