NGK named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices Asia
Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) for the Sixth Consecutive Year

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (hereinafter "NGK") based in Nagoya, Japan, announced that it has been selected for the sixth consecutive year as a constituent company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (“DJSI Asia Pacific”), which is one of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (“DJSI”), a globally iconic environmental, social, governance (ESG) investment index.

DJSI is a leading SRI index that has been offered since 1999 by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC of the U.S. The DJSI index is an iconic ESG investment index that analyzes companies on governance and economic, environmental, and social factors. Companies that possess excellent sustainability are then selected as constituent companies for the index. Inclusion in DJSI has become one of the most important investment criteria for investors around the world who place importance on ESG.

The constituent companies of the DJSI index are reviewed annually. This year, fiscal 2021, NGK has been selected by DJSI Asia Pacific to be included in the index. The top ranking 153 companies (of which 77 were Japanese companies) were selected from among some 600 leading companies in the Asia- Pacific Ocean region.
