Support for Ukraine

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (the “Company”) has donated 50 million yen in humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. The Company donated ¥53 million to the Japanese Red Cross Society, which included ¥3 million comprised of donations the NGK Labor Union led in collecting from employees and a matching amount from the Company (labor and management each collecting ¥1.5 million). In addition, manufacturing subsidiary NGK CERAMICS POLSKA SP. Z O.O. (Poland), which has employees who are Ukrainian or with ties to Ukraine, donated 300,000 zloty (approx. ¥8.5 million) to the Polish Red Cross in March.

Donations collected by the Japanese Red Cross Society and Polish Red Cross will be used for the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis relief fund to respond to humanitarian crises in Ukraine and to support assistance activities in neighboring and other countries for refugees from Ukraine. The NGK Group hopes that the difficult situation being faced by the people of Ukraine and neighboring regions will end as soon as possible and peace and safety restored.

NGK EUROPE GMBH (Germany) has donated €10,000 (approx. \1.25 million) to Médecins Sans Frontières. (postscripted on May 30, 2022)
