NGK Authorized as a “DX-Certified Operator” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (hereinafter “NGK”) applied for Digital Transformation (DX) Certification established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and was authorized as a “DX-certified operator” on December 1, 2022.
DX Certification is a system in which the Japanese government certifies companies that meet the basic requirements specified in the "Digital Governance Code” based on the Act on Facilitation of Information Processing. It certifies operators that the government has confirmed are ready to transform their own businesses through digitalization (DX Ready).
The NGK Group has established the NGK Group Vision “Road to 2050” with an eye toward the year 2050. To achieve this vision, we are implementing reforms in five areas: (1) ESG Management; (2) Profitability Improvement; (3) Research & Development; (4) Commercialization; and (5) Digital Transformation (DX).
In particular, we positioned DX as the driving force of reform overall, formulated the NGK Group Digital Vision as well as a strategy, newly established the Digital Transformation and Innovation Dept., and have promoted the development of personnel for data utilization. Now that these initiatives to build a structure for promoting DX have been recognized, NGK was authorized as a DX-certified operator.
The NGK Group will continue to promote DX in order to achieve corporate reforms that leverage data and digital technologies as established in the NGK Group Digital Vision.
