NGK files an appeal with the Korean Supreme Court against the Patent Court's decision

As NGK INSULATORS, LTD. ("NGK") announced in the news release dated September 9, 2016 entitled "filing an appeal with the Korean Patent Court against the Seoul Central District Court’s findings of non-infringement of NGK's patent," NGK initially filed a patent infringement action against MiCo Ltd. ("MiCo") with the Seoul Central District Court, seeking to enjoin MiCo from manufacturing and selling in Korea the patented heater for the semiconductor manufacturing equipment (Korean Patent No. 283600 owned by NGK). After the Seoul Central District Court’s findings of non-infringement on September 8, 2016, NGK filed an appeal against the lower court's decision with the Korean Patent Court on the same date. The Court, however, affirmed the lower court’s decision on January 20, 2017 finding that MiCo's product does not fall within the technical scope of NGK's patented invention.

Following the decision, we filed an appeal against the Patent Court's decision with the Korean Supreme Court on January 25, 2017.
