Low-Level Radwaste Treatment System The combustible radioactive solid wastes, such as towels, working clothes, and gloves used at nuclear power station, can be largely reduced in volume by incineration. The exhaust gas from the incinerator is released in the air after the dust is removed by the ceramic filter.
Induction-Heat Melting/Solidification System The induction-heat melting/solidification system melts and solidifies any non-combustible wastes, such as metals, insulation materials, and concrete, through high-frequency induction heating, then forms solids. This system offers a large volume reduction. The formed solids are the ceramics and the metal cakes which remain stable for long time; therefore, their final disposal is easy.
Pyrolysis Furnace Waste solvents and medium level radioactive waste resins generated at nuclear power stations are volume-reduced and solidified by pyrolysis. Control of reaction is facilitated by using ceramic balls in a furnace.
High-Pressure Compaction System The non-combustible radioactive waste from nuclear power stations is stored in 200-litter drums. For the large volume reduction, such drums, as a whole, are squeezed and compacted, and refilled into another drum. The computer-controlled system can optimize this refilling process.
Dry Blast Decontamination System Waste solvents and medium level radioactive waste resins generated at nuclear power stations are volume-reduced and solidified by pyrolysis. Control of reaction is facilitated by using ceramic balls in a furnace.
